Jay Williamson, D.O.

Jay Williamson D.O. is a long time Tulsan who has been in practice since 1996. Dr. Williamson has the experience, knowledge and wisdom to understand the needs of women throughout their reproductive years and beyond.

Dr. Williamson graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He earned his medical degree in 1990 from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 1991 Dr. Williamson completed his rotating internship, followed by the completion of a four year OB-GYN residency in 1995 – all at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.

When asked why he chose the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Williamson says: “What led me to obstetrics and gynecology was the happy and positive nature of the specialty as well as the variety of medical care and surgical procedures. Working in the labor and delivery unit was my first experience outside the classroom and I felt this specialty was my calling”.

Dr. Williamson is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Tulsa County Medical Society, Tulsa OB-GYN Society, Oklahoma State Medical Association and the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association.

On a personal level, Dr. Williamson has been happily married for over 30 years. He and his wife live in Tulsa with their children and are very active in their church and community. Dr. Williamson enjoys running, cycling, golf and many other outdoor and family activities.

Kristin Buchanan, Nurse Practitioner

Kristin is a native Oklahoman, having lived in both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas. She graduated from University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1991 and received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 1997. She then worked as a registered nurse for 20 years in the areas of labor and delivery/postpartum care and intensive care. Upon completion of a Post-Master’s Certificate from the University of South Alabama in 2011, she has worked in the Tulsa area as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

Kristin is a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals.

When asked why she chose the specialty of Women’s Health, Kristin says “Women’s health has always been a special interest of mine. Working in labor and delivery for many years, I enjoyed the close bond I developed with my patients during the birthing process. I always felt honored to share in the experience with them. It was a natural progression of my career to specialize in women’s health as a nurse practitioner.” Kristin’s major areas of interest include adolescent care, family planning, and obstetrics.

Personally, Kristin has been married for over 20 years and lives in Broken Arrow. She has 2 teenage children and is involved in supporting their extra-curricular activities. When she is not volunteering her time with her hometown high school band program, she enjoys watching high school and college football and traveling in the United States.
